Abstract

The present Ordinance implements Council Directive 1999/74/EC laying down minimum standards for the protection of laying hens. In particular, it is applicable to establishments with more than 350 laying hens. Article 3 lists the minimum requirements for such animal keeping places. Moreover, the animals must have enough space in order to move freely; the premises have to be kept in perfect hygienic conditions; noise has to be kept at low level and there must be enough light. The text consists of 10 articles.
