Abstract

These Rules fix the principles that shall govern the organization of official inspections in the field of animal nutrition. Inspections shall be carried out at regular intervals, where non compliance is suspected and by using means which are proportionate to the desired objective and, particularly, in the light of the risks and of experience gained. All stages of production and manufacture shall be covered. Contingency operational plans shall be drawn up by the Veterinary Services (rule 5). The Rules are divided into the following Chapters: (I) Introductory provisions; (II) Imports from third countries; (III) Trade within the European Community; (IV) Information system for hazards from feedingstuffs; (V) General provisions and inspections.
