The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 January 2000.
Abstract

The present Act implements the federal legislation on animal diseases. Part I establishes the specific competence of the various authorities and offices dealing with the subject matter. Article 5 lays down provisions relating to compensation payments made to cattle holders in case of an outbreak of animal disease. The competent authority shall ensure that an adequate infrastructure for the disposal of animal waste is available. The text consists of 19 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Animal waste (II); Animal Pest Fund (III); Rescinding compulsory cattle insurance (IV); Penalties and final provisions (V).
