Importation of animals requires a permit to be obtained from the Director of Agriculture in accordance with these Regulations. Arrival of animals in a port of The Bahamas shall be notified by the master of the vessel and all animals shall be subjected to inspection upon arrival. Animals that are diseased or suspected to be diseased shall be removed from The Bahamas or put into quarantine. The Regulations further provide rules for quarantine and prescribe offences.
