Abstract

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs amends the Environmental impact Assessment Regulations Listing Notice 2 of 2014 by giving a new definition of “linear development [activities] activity” (an activity that is arranged in or extending along one or more properties and which affects the environment or any aspect of the environment along the course of the activity, and includes railways, roads, canals, channels, funiculars, pipelines, conveyor belts, cableways, powerlines, fences, runways, aircraft landing strips, firebreaks and telecommunication lines) and by repealing a provision (3.3) which stipulates that where Listing Notice 4 applies, an application for environmental authorisation must be submitted for an activity contemplated in that Notice and not for an activity contemplated in this Notice.
