Abstract

This Resolution acknowledge the IATTC's goal of maintaining or restoring fish stocks to levels capable of producing Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) and outlines a provisional rebuilding plan. This plan includes initial targets for stock biomass to be achieved by 2024 and a second target to be achieved within 10 years, with catch limits and management measures adjusted based on scientific assessments and recommendations. The plan's implementation and progress will be assessed through reviews based on stock assessments and SSB projections by the ISC and advice from the IATTC Scientific Staff, with potential modifications to management measures as needed. The Commission is urged to collaborate with the WCPFC NC, and decisions made in the resolution aim to conserve and recover the Pacific bluefin tuna stock. The text contains 13 Articles.
