Abstract

This Statutory Measure, made under section 15 of the Agricultural Product Standards Act, 1990, provides rules for the placing on the market of table olives (defined) in South Africa. In particular it sets out quality requirements for olives offered for sale and specifies quality grades and specific standards for each grade. No person shall sell table olives in the Republic of South Africa unless such olives and their packaging comply with requirements and standards set out by these Regulations. Other provisions concern labelling, packing and (methods of) inspection. The Measure is completed by a Schedule on sampling.
