In particular it sets out quality requirements for grapes offered for sale and specifies quality classes. Imported table grapes may be exempted from quality requirements as set out in this Measure provides that they comply with specified international standards, are certified and do not contain certain substances. Grapes shall not contain biological or chemical contaminants in quantities or at levels that exceed the maximum limits prescribed in terms of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972. Other provisions concern labelling, packing and (methods of) inspection. The Measure is completed by two Schedules.
