Abstract

This Act amends the Plant Health Act: in section 3 by adding definitions of "consignment" and "Macro-organisms for biological control and pollination"; by adding section 8a on duty of care and sections 9a and 9b on trade in, placing on the market and use of macro-organisms for biological control and pollination; in sections 11 and 30 on (compensation for) combating plant pests; by adding section 14a which empowers the Food Safety Authority to engage the Finnish Forestry Centre in specified duties of for compensation of combating of pests that affect trees.
