Abstract The Act is composed of four Sections and three Annexes. The Sections are: General provisions (sect. 1); Veterinary control in the trade of animals and products specified in provisions listed in Annex 1 (sect. 2); Veterinary control in the trade of products specified in provisions listed in Annex 2 (sect. 3); Transitional and final provisions (sect. 4). The Act does not apply to domestic animals accompanying physical persons responsible for these animals which are brought to the territory of Poland from other member countries of the European Union for non-commercial purposes. Annex 3 specifies the list of diseases and infectious diseases for which immediate activities shall be undertaken.
