Abstract The present Act lays down rules to prevent and reduce the negative effects on humans, animals and the environment that could be caused by the medical treatment of animals. It also seeks to promote the appropriate use of veterinary drugs in veterinary medicine. The Act contains 54 sections divided into the following Chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Use of veterinary drugs for the treatment of animals and use restrictions; 3. Identification of animals and quarantines; 4. Acquisition and passing on of veterinary drugs; 5. Record keeping; 6.
