Abstract

An Act to provide for a variety of matters relative to the introduction and application sphere of the Water Act of 1983. It repeals the Water Act of 1918 and some other legislation. If reference is made in other legislation to a provision of legislation prior to the Water Act of 1983, which regulates a matter that is also regulated by the new Act, than the provisions of the new Act shall replace those of prior legislation (sect. 3). Provisions of this Act are in part of transitional character and define the relationship between the Water Act of 1983 and previous water legislation, notably the Water Law of 1918. Section 12 compensation of damages resulting from restrictions on water rights for the good of general fisheries interests.
