Abstract The aim of this Act is the protection of wild fauna and flora species which are internationally recognized as endangered. The Act establishes requirements for importing and exporting endangered species of wild fauna and flora and further sets out proceedings concerning the registration of these species. The Act is composed of the following Sections: (1) General provisions; (2) Import and export of specimens; (3) Common provisions on issue of permits; (4) Activities of customs authorities and inspection on animal protection and plant health; (5) Compulsory registration of some specimens; (6) Inspection and penalties; (7) Amendments to the Czech National Council Act No. 114/92 on the Protection of Nature and the Landscape; (8) Entry into force.
