The Act enters into force on 1 September 1997.
Abstract

This Act sets out basic provisions concerning the production of foodstuffs and tobacco products. It lays down obligations of entrepreneurs in this sector and deals with inspection carried out by public authorities to ensure compliance with these provisions. Particular rules are also laid down as regards food radiation (art. 4), packaging (art. 5), labelling (art. 6), marketing of foodstuffs (art. 10), transport of foodstuffs and tobacco products (art. 13) and penalties (art. 17).
