Abstract

The purpose of this Act is to promote the utilization of renewable energy sources and create conditions for trading in guarantees of origin for electricity produced from renewable energy sources. Landsnet shall handle the issue of guarantees of origin for electricity produced from renewable energy sources and monitor that the electricity for which it issues a guarantee of origin is in fact produced by renewable energy sources. The Act sets specific rules for guarantees of origin issued in the EEA, requests of guarantees of origin, the application procedure, necessary information for applicants, foreign guarantees of origin, administration and control, penalties, etc.
