Abstract

The present Act contains provisions supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health ("Animal Health Law"). It also applies to the identification and registration of companion animals and wild animals kept by humans, and further contains provisions on the national measures, additional measures and stricter measures allowed under the EU Animal Health Regulation regarding the registration of establishments and operators and the traceability of animals. The Act contains 44 Sections divided into the following chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Registration of establishments and operators; 3. Animal traceability; 4. Competent authorities; 5. Supervision and registers; 6. Coercive measures and penalties; 7. Special provisions.
