This Act entered into force on 7 March 2013.
Abstract

This Act lays down some amendments and addenda to the Water Law related to implementation of the Directive 2008/56/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for community action in the field of marine environmental policy (Marine Strategy Framework Directive). In particular, the present Act lays down provisions concerning good environmental status of marine waters defined as the state of marine environment where marine waters are clean, healthy and productive, while the use of marine environment is at the level which guarantees sustainability and possibility of use and human activities. The present Act establishes also provisions concerning environmental protection of marine waters (Sec. 3 supplemented to Chapter III).
