It also adds new section 52a on import, export and transit of radioactive waste or materials containing radioactive waste. Radioactive waste or materials containing radioactive waste may be imported, exported or transported through Finnish territory only under the condition that any movement of waste is in advance approved by the Nuclear Safety Agency. Radioactive waste may not be exported to a country that is not adequately prepared in terms of technology, legislation and administration to manage the radioactive waste.
