Abstract

The present Act introduces some major amendments to the Genetic Technology Act in its consolidated version of 16 December 1993 (BGBl. I p. 2066). In particular, the Act rewords article 5 on Tasks of the Commission; article 8 on Authorization, notification and registration of installations working with genetically modified material; article 12 on Notification and registration procedures; article 16e on Exceptions for planting materials not liable to be labelled; article 31 on Competent authorities in general and competent federal authorities in particular.
