Abstract

This Act amends the Fishing Act of 2015 in section 60 on the agreement on protection for the Saaima people. The Nutrition, Traffic and Environmental Center branch office in Northern Savolax and the owner of a water area or the holder of a special right may enter into an agreement to restrict and prohibit fishing in a specific water area in order to protect the local fish resources and to achieve a favorable conservation status for the Saimaa bay. The agreement can be concluded for a maximum of five years at a time.
