This Act enters into force on 1 January 2014.
Abstract

This Act establishes provisions concerning protection and reproduction of gene pool of forest trees. The protection and reproduction of genetic resources of forest trees is provided within the National Programme. Each participant of the National Programme is required: (a) to protect and reproduce the genetic resources of forest trees in situ and ex situ in all their parts and developmental stages; (b) to ensure the preservation of samples of genetic resources of forest trees in appropriate conditions to prevent their damage or destruction; (c) if necessary to enable the reproduction and restoration of forest tree genetic resources; (d) to ensure the necessary measures to rescue genetic of forest trees resourcse in case of danger of their devaluation; (e) notify the person in charge on the information concerning genetic resources of forest trees not later than 30 days from the date when this change occurred. This Act also lays down provisions concerning collection of reproductive material (supplemented art. 5a).
