Biofuels, including biomass, shall meet the criteria as prescribed by the Directive. The Government may prescribe criteria additional to those of the Directive. The criteria concern mainly requirements of sustainable development, e.g. biofuels may not be produced from raw materials that are produced in certain protected areas.
