Abstract The scope of this Decree (exception for paragraphs 2 and 3) covers the quality requirements of water intended for human consumption (or drinking water), the improvement of access to drinking water and the order of water quality control. Limit values and parametric values for the quality of drinking water are contained in Annex 1. Water is considered drinking water if: a) does not contain micro-organisms, parasites, chemical, physical or radiological substances in a quantity or concentration that could pose a potential threat to human health; b) meets the requirements set out in points 1, 2 and 5 of Annex 1; c) complies with the limit values of additional parameters not listed in Annex 1, determined nationally by the national chief medical officer or by the public health body for the given water supply system in order to protect human health.
