Abstract

The applicant in this case wanted to build a filling station next to an urban area. The respondent was against the proposal since the land was zoned before as a site for a hotel or amusement park. The respondent also argues that petroleum products are hazardous substances, therefore filling stations should not be built near residential areas. The applicant was not successful in showing an entitlement to the relief sought.
