Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Canada on cooperation in the sphere of utilization of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes

The Parties have agreed to cooperate in the following fields: (a) exchange of information related to scientific research and development, nuclear safety and environmental protection and use of nuclear materials; (b) supply of nuclear materials and equipment; (c) use of nuclear energy for electric power generation; and (d) exploration and extraction of uranium ore. The Agreement shall be carried out in the following forms: (a) technical training of personnel; (b) exchange of information; (c) establishment of nuclear safety requirements. Nuclear materials subject to the present Agreement shall not be enriched over 20 percent by the content of uranium-235 isotope.
