Résumé

This Agreement determines co-ordinates of the points that, connected by arcs of great circles form the maritime boundary between Sri Lanka and India in the waters of Palk Strait to Adam’s Bridge. The co-ordinates specified are geographical co-ordinates and straight lines connecting them are indicated on a chart originally attached to the Agreement. The actual location of the points at sea and on the seabed shall be determined by a method to be agreed upon by the Parties through surveyors appointed for this purpose by the two Governments. Each country shall have sovereignty and exclusive jurisdiction and control over the waters, the islands and the Continental Shelf and subsoil thereof falling on its own part of the maritime boundary here established.
