The ICC and UNEP: 23 years of close collaboration

Résumé

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and UNEP have collaborated for 23 years. The Business Charter for Sustainable Development, a set of 16 principles for environmental management which has become the Green Code for business, was created at the initiative of the private sector through the ICC. UNEP cooperated in a worldwide campaign to encourage business, especially small and medium-sized companies, to implement the charter. The most recent example of cooperation between ICC and UNEP is the Environment Management System Training Resource Kit, on which the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIE) also worked
