In particular, regulation 1 is modified to state the application of these regulations without prejudice to the provisions of the Merchant Shipping (Fishing Vessels) (Minimum Safety and Health Requirements) Regulations and the Merchant Shipping (Fishing Vessel Safety) Rules as well as without prejudice to the provisions applicable to seafishing vessels according to Council Directive 92/29/EEC of 31 March 1992 on the minimum safety and health requirements for improved medical treatment on board vessels: in case of conflict with those texts the present regulations apply.
