Regulation 3 specifies 'prescribed scientific organizations' for purposes of subsection 4(1) of the Act. Regulation 4 appoints the Director of Quarantine as a prescribed person for purposes of subsection 8(4) of the Act. Regulation 5 specifies conditions which management programs must comply with in order to obtain approval of the Minister (subsection 10(2)9 of the Act). Regulation 5(a) specifies matters which the Minister must take into account for purposes of subsection 10A(5) of the Act (Declarations about controlled specimens). Regulation 6 lists conditions which institutions must comply with in order to obtain the status of 'approved institutions' in the sense of subsection 11(2) of the Act, Approval of zoological organizations is provided for in regulation 7 (subsect. 12(2) of the Act). Regulation 7A specifies breeding programs for purposes of subparagraph 13(1)(e)(ii) of the Act. The remaining provisions further define breeding in captivity for purposes of section 14 of the Act (reg. 8), artificial propagation for purposes of section 15 of the Act (reg. 9), and some other terms of the Act of minor importance. The regulations are completed by 3 Schedules: prescribed insegna (1); forms (2); fees (3).
