Schedule 1 lists birds that are absolutely protected and the second Schedule lists birds that are protected during the close season. Section 4 provides for the protection of captive birds. Notwithstanding any provision of this Act the Minister may, subject to conditions as he deems fit, authorize any person to kill wild birds, and may authorize any person to export wild birds or their skin (sect. 8).
