Résumé The present Regulations are made under the Canada Grain Act. The objectives of the proposed Regulations are to continue producer funding for wheat and barley research, market development and technical assistance on an interim basis; and establish a transitional deduction with characteristics that closely mirror the current Canadian Wheat Board funding. The Regulations establish a refundable point-of-sale check-off lasting no longer than five years to support wheat and barley research, market development and technical assistance. After this time frame, it will be up to the industry to develop and administer its own check-off, if supporting these activities continues to be a priority for the grain sector.
