Résumé This Act, consisting of 31 sections divided into five Parts, aims at regulating the practice of veterinary surgery in Western Australia. It establishes the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board entitled to: acquiring, holding and disposing of real and personal property and of suing and being sued. The Register of Veterinary Surgeons, Western Australia shall, at the direction of the Board, and on payment of the prescribed fee: a) where a person, not being a body corporate, has the necessary qualifications or prerequisites under this Act, register that person as a veterinary surgeon, an honorary veterinary surgeon or a specialist by entering his name together with the other particulars referred to in subsection (3); and b) where, in relation to a body corporate, the Board approves the application pursuant to section 20(3), register that body corporate by entering the name by which it is incorporated and any other name by reference to which it carries on business, together with such other particulars as may be prescribed.
