The Authority shall be accountable to the Ministry of Agriculture. The objective of the Authority shall be to ensure improvement of animal productivity and availability of wholesome animal products to the consumers. The Authority shall have an advisory board, which shall provide advice on: the formulation and implementation of policies, strategies and guidelines for ,ensuring the safety and efficacy of veterinary drugs and quality standards of feed; a disposal system for expired and substandard veterinary drugs, feed and feed additives; the implementation of international agreements concerning veterinary drugs and feed.
