Résumé This Act, consisting of 55 sections divided into eight Parts and completed by four Schedules, establishes requirements and conditions to be met for veterinarians. The main purposes of this Act are as follows: provide for the registration of veterinarians and veterinary specialists to regulate veterinary service within the Northern Territory. It also creates the Veterinary Board of the Northern Territory, establishing its composition, duties and responsibilities, entitled to perform the following activities: promote high standards of professional conduct in the provision of veterinary services in the Territory; regulate the registration of persons as veterinarians or veterinary specialists; exercise in relation to persons registered, or formerly registered, as veterinarians or veterinary specialists the disciplinary powers conferred by Part 5; investigate any matter relating to the professional conduct of veterinarians; issue guidelines in relation to standards to be observed by registered veterinarians and veterinary specialists in connection with the veterinary services; investigate suspected offences against this Act and to prosecute such offences; etc. Texte intégral Anglais Site web legislation.nt.gov.au
