The present Act enters into force on 1 January 1995.
Résumé

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the protection of trade marks and designation of origin. Article 4 establishes that the protection of trademark is created by registration as a trade mark in the register kept by the Patent Office. The present Act consists of 165 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: Sphere of application (1); Conditions, content and limits of protection of trademarks and trade name; transfer and licence (2); Procedures in trade mark matters (3); Collective marks (4); Protection of trademarks under the Madrid Agreement and the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement, Community trade marks (5); Geographical Indications (6); Procedures in disputes concerning marks (7); Penalties and fines; sequestration in import and export (8); Transitional provisions (9).
