Résumé

This Law, divided into eight Parts and consisting of 65 articles and eleven attached tables, applies in any emergency exposure situation involving a risk to human health due to exposure to ionising radiation or radioactive mixing or release or dispersion of radioactive substances, in terms of environmental and human health protection; in civilian nuclear facilities and in human activities which involve or may involve the presence of natural sources of radiation or activities, such as manufacture, production, processing, handling, use, possession, storage, transport, import, export, shipment, recycling, reuse, disposal of radioactive substances or waste and provides for emergency preparedness, response planning and management, to justify measures to protect the human health. The Law defines the following relevant terms: radiation; spent fuel; dealing with emergency; storage; remediation; discharge; shipment; competent authority; accident; damage to health; damage to the environment; disposal; facility; licensing approval; national emergency response plan; prohibition notice; import; safety report; exposure for medical purpose; emergency; risk assessment; export; remedial measures; intervention; processing; employer; fundamental safety principles; registration; transportation; environmental monitoring; environmental protection; radioactive waste; emergency management system.
