Résumé

This Order, made under section 38 (1) (a) of the Plants (Quarantine) Act, concerns wood packaging material used for international trade of plants and plant products, and approved treatments associated with wood packaging materials. Matters covered by this Order include: debarking of wood to be used as packaging material; kinds of treatment for wood packaging materials; duties of quarantine officers and disinfection methods; application of marks to the wood to indicate that it has been subjected to phytosanitary treatment; issuance of marks, certifications and guarantee marks; conditions of entry into the country for non-compliant wood or wood packages; destruction of materials infested with defined live wood-boring pest.
