Résumé These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 228 of the Merchant Shipping Act, apply to Mauritius ships, and foreign ships within the territorial sea of Mauritius, and concern: emission; fuel oil; International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate; equipments containing ozone-depleting substances; waste incinerator on board a ship; sludge oil. Matters covered by the Regulations include: surveys and certification of ships; responsibilities of the owner and master of a ship; validity of appropriate certificates; control of emissions from ships; ozone-depleting substances; volatile organic compounds; fuel oil quality; ship energy efficiency management Plan; collecting and reporting consumption data; inspection of ships, detentions and offences.
