Résumé This Act is enacted to re-enact the Prevention of Iodine Deficiency Diseases Act, 1989 by repealing it with necessary amendments and bringing it up to date. In order to fulfill the purpose of this Act, there shall be a National Salt Committee, the Minister or Minister of State or Deputy Minister in charge of the Ministry of Industry shall be the adviser of the National Salt Committee and the said National Salt Committee. he duties and functions of the National Salt Committee shall be as follows, namely:- a) make recommendations on the policy of production, processing, iodization, storage, sale, transportation, supply of iodine to salt factories, import and management; b) design strategies for prevention of iodine deficiency diseases; c) make recommendations regarding the adoption of necessary measures to make the use of iodized salt compulsory in industries manufacturing foodstuff for human and animals; d) make necessary recommendations for the modernization and expansion of salt research and salt industry; e) encourage the public to purchase iodized salt; f) make recommendations for fixing national iodine standards and levels required for human and animal health, etc. Texte intégral Anglais/Bengali Site web bdlaws.minlaw.gov.bd
