The Act establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of Drugs Technical Advisory Board, the Central Drugs Laboratory and the Drugs Consultative Committee responsible to carry out the functions assigned. The Act is divided as follows: The Drugs Technical Advisory Board, the Central Drugs Laboratory and the Drugs Consultative Committee (Chap. II); Import of Drugs and Cosmetics (Chap. III); Manufacture, Sale and Distribution of Drugs and Cosmetics (Chap. IV); Provisions Relating to Ayurvedic Siddha and Unani Drugs (Chap. IVA); and Miscellaneous (Chap. V).
