The Minister may design tenantries for purposes of this Act, but only if there are not sufficient on the tenantry including water supply and sewage disposal. The Act sets out the procedure for the approval of development requests. At certain conditions the Minister may proceed to compulsory acquisition of unused land of a designated tenantry and may also acquire adjoining land under the Land Acquisition Act for purposes of an improvement scheme.
