Résumé In order to improve the condition of reservoirs of water the Collector, as defined in section 2, may serve a notice on the person having control over a tank which has fallen into disrepair or disuse requiring such person to carry out improvements of the tank as the Collector considers necessary (sect. 3). If improvements are not carried out to the satisfaction of the Collector he may declare the tank to be a derelict tank. The Collector may take possession of a derelict tank and carry out improvements or authorize a local authority, cooperative society or other person to carry out improvements on the tank (sect. 6). Subject to provisions of this Act, an authorized person shall be entitled to remain in possession of a derelict tank for such a period as the Collector may determine after consideration of the time necessary to compensate the authorized person for the cost incurred in the carrying out of the improvements not exceeding twenty years (sect. 8). The remaining provisions of the Act deal with rights of authorized persons and original owners, compensations in relation with exercise of rights on the tank, the decision of disputes,etc. (37 sections).
