Résumé

This Act, consisting of five Parts, establishes the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of Malaysia (SEDA). This statutory body formed under this Act aims to administer and manage the implementation of the feed-in tariff mechanism which is mandated under the Renewable Energy Act 2011 [Act 725]. The vision of this Act is to promote the deployment of sustainable energy measures as part of the solutions towards achieving energy security and autonomy. Its mission is to ensure sustainable energy playing an important role in the nation’s economic development and environmental conservation; to ensure that existing sustainable energy programmes are managed prudently and efficiently; continuously assess new potential sustainable energy solutions in partnership with our domestic and international stakeholders to diversify and complement the existing portfolio of our existing sustainable energy programmes; and advocate the public towards accepting responsibility in a paradigm shift towards living sustainably. Its core values lay in carrying out roles and responsibilities to the rakyat of Malaysia, SEDA operates within the following core values: Accountability: responsible to implement the laws related to sustainable energy; Governance: Carry out our work with transparency, openness and integrity. Efficiency & Competency: Carry out works within a declared client charter to achieve National goals. Human Resource Development: Strive to develop a talented pool for the sustainable energy industry to accelerate its growth. This Act is divided as follows: Preliminary (Part I); Authority (Part II); Functions and Powers of the Authority (Part III); Employee of the Authority (Part IV); Finance (Part V); General power grid (Part VI).
