Résumé The present Act lays down provisions relating to species at risk. Section 17 of the above-mentioned Act establishes the Species at Risk Committee to assess the status of species that may be at risk in the Northwest Territories. This Committee shall carry out its functions on the basis of the best available information, including Aboriginal traditional knowledge, community knowledge and scientific knowledge, on the biological status of a species and the existing and potential threats to and positive influences on the species and its habitat.
