This Regulation entrs into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Regulation is composed of 7 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Article 3 entrusts the Ministry of Environment to cooperate with the concerned authorities for the protection of soil. Competencies and duties of the Ministry are to: (a) lay down a complete environmental plan for the protection of soil and for the best methods for the exploitation of lands; (b) study the desertification and soil erosion as well as to take necessary measures for soil erosion control; (c) monitor and control soil pollution; (d) encourage projects related to soil development and rehabilitation; (e) study developmental projects and their impact on lands and natural resources; (f) lay down a plan for the creation of a database for soil protection and land uses; (g) lay down control programmes on agricultural chemicals; (h) prepare necessary programmes for the rehabilitation of stone quarries, sand quarries, mining zones and waste disposal dumps; and, (i) lay down requirements and directives for the cultivation of trees, nursery plants and grasses in order to control soil erosion. Article 4 entrusts the Ministry of Environment to create and manage protected areas for the development and production of wild plants with the objective to control and protect the soil erosion. Article 7 entrusts the Minister of Environment to issue necessary implementing regulations.
