This Regulation enter into force eight days after the publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Regulation is composed of 31 articles and two annexes: (1) List of permitted substitutes for salt, and (2) List of permitted additives for children's food. Dietetic products can be brought into trade only if they meet the requirements prescribed by this Regulation (art. 1). It is not permitted to use for production of baby's food: artificial colouring matters, preservation by chemical means, by ionization or by ultraviolet irradiation, artificial sweetening; and adding of stabilizers, antioxidants, flavours, emulgators, biologically active substances, and other chemical substances (art. 4). Colour, taste and flavour of dietetic products shall be similar to the characteristics of the raw materials of which they have been made (art. 5). Dietetic products shall not contain residues of antibyotics, hormons, organic solvents, mycotocsine in quantities which can be proved by prescribed or recognized methods (art. 6). Dietetic products can be commercialized only in original packings and each packing shall contain the label with the statement: "Dietetic product". Ten elements shall be written on the label: name and purpose of product, the name of producer, energetic value for 100 gr of product, etc. (art. 7). Baby's food shall contain determined quantities of energetic, constructive and protective substances (art. 8). Children's food can be produced in liquid, pulpy, dry or baked form and raw materials for its production are determined. The additives which may be used for production of children's food are listed in the annexed List (art. 9). Particular prescriptions for mycrobiological wholesomeness, for the way of production, for the residues of pesticides permitted, for minimum content of minerals and vitamins in baby's and children's food can be found in articles 10 - 16. Dietetic foodstufs with reduced energetic value are those with energetic value reduced for at least 30 % and they shall have the same relation of vitamins and mineral matters as foodstufs of the same kind with normal composition (art. 17). Dietetic food for diabetes shall meet special requirements prescribed by articles 19 and 20. The instructions for use of foodstufs produced with sugar substitutes shall contain indications on the maximum quantity of that food which may be consumed in one day (articles 21 and 22). Provisions on substitutes for salt are contained in the articles 23 - 26. Besides the data mentioned in art. 7 of this regulation, the declaration of these products shall contain indications on the content of sodium per 100 gr of food (art. 26). Dietetic products for elderly persons shall meet requirements prescribed by art. 28.
