A person may apply for information without giving a reason for the application unless an applicant requests that the application be treated as urgent. The Act provides that the Government shall make available to the public, general information on governance without an application from a specific person. The Act lays out for responsibility of public institution in respect of compile and publish an up-to-date information with regard to the items verified by the Act. The Act further describes exempted information including information for the President or the Vice-President, cabinet, information relating to law enforcement and public safety, information affecting international relations, security of state, and economic. The Act further provides for procedure for application to access information, amendment of personal records in custody of a public institution, internal reviews and appeals, establishment of the right to information commission, administrative and financial provisions, application for review by the Commission, orders, decisions and directives of the Commission, and general and miscellaneous provisions.
