Résumé

This Resolution of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) lays down management and conservation measures for the period of 2021-2024 in accordance with the long-term management objectives of Pacific bluefin tuna in paragraph 1 of Resolution C-21-01, in order to cope with overfishing of the stock which has been shown in 2020 stock assessment of Pacific bluefin tuna by the International Scientific Committee for Tuna and Tuna-like Species in the North Pacific Ocean (ISC). To this end, each CPC shall report sport fishery catches of Pacific bluefin tuna semi-annually to the Director. In the IATTC Convention Area, combined total commercial catches of Pacific bluefin tuna by all CPCs shall not exceed the catch limit of 7,295 metric tons during 2021-2022 and 7,990 metric tons during 2023-2024. By 31 January of each year in 2021-2024, the Director shall notify all CPCs of the catch limit for each year in 2021-2024.
