The Commission should review the effectiveness of the mitigation measures and their impact on catches of both sea turtles and target species. Interested CPCs, in cooperation with the IATTC, should assign a high priority to conducting research on the interaction between small-scale artisanal fisheries and bycatch of sea turtles in coastal areas.
