This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Resolution consisting of 12 articles aims at establishing that (i) the headquarters of the Wildlife Department at the Wildlife Office shall be at Cairo International Airport (art.1); (ii) the work of the Department is organized in 24-hour shifts, 7 days a week (art.4); (iii) the applications of importers and exporters of wild animals and birds shall be submitted to the Minister’s office (art.5); (iv) a committee shall be formed under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Director of Wildlife and a representative of the Ministry of Environment to decide on the requests of importers and exporters and to obtain temporary permits (art.6); (v) the Departments of Veterinary Quarantine, Agriculture and Customs shall inspect the shipment before the export to verify its compliance with the permit (art.8); (vi) rules for imported wild animals and verification of the certificates of origin and conformity of the letter to the veterinary requirements after the veterinary quarantine procedures (art.9); (vii) animals that do not comply with the conditions referred to, are delivered to zoos after making sure that they are free of diseases and that they are accompanied by a health certificate; (viii) hand over of the CITES certificates and stamps from the responsible of the zoo to the Undersecretary of the Ministry (art.11).
